Spotify Stands Firm: AI-Produced Songs Here to Stay

Spotify has declared that it does not intend to remove music generated by artificial intelligence from its platform. However, it has been specified that users holding artist accounts are prohibited from distributing songs that clone their voices using artificial intelligence.

The company affirmed its stance of not implementing measures against music created through artificial intelligence.

Daniel Ek, the CEO, emphasized in his statement that while there are legitimate uses of technology in music production, artificial intelligence should not be employed to replicate the voices of actual artists without their consent.

SONGS PRODUCED WITH CLONED VOICES WERE REMOVED

Spotify, vigilant about the imitation of famous artists’ voices, has this year deleted songs from its platform that were created by artificially cloning the voices of Drake and The Weeknd.

“WE HAVE WITNESSED ALL KINDS OF INITIATIVES, OUR TEAM IS CROWDED”

Spotify’s leader, Ek, mentioned that they employ a substantial team dedicated to combating “those attempting to deceive the system”: “Someone might upload a song claiming it belongs to Madonna. Throughout Spotify’s history, we’ve encountered nearly every scheme to manipulate our system. We have a very large team tasked solely with addressing these issues,” he stated.
